We are looking for adults with autism ages 18 and older to participate in a study looking at the impact of travel training on use of public transportation to access the community (i.e., social events, medical appointments, work).

Participants receive group and individual travel training instruction from occupational therapists and peers on how to use public transportation such as buses and trains. Participants will be randomly assigned into an individual travel training intervention or weekly transportation reporting to therapist. We are trying to learn if travel training helps a person become more independent in using public transportation and if this helps the person to participate more in the community. The individual travel training group involves participation 3 hours a week for up to 6 weeks scheduled at times convenient to the person.  Participants have the possibility to receive up to $74 compensation for participating in the study.

If you or someone you know is interested in participating in the study, please contact:

Amber Davidson at [email protected] or (215) 272-3080 with any questions or if would like additional information for participation!

Thank you!
