JCHAI, Judith Creed Homes for Adult Independence, is known for our exceptionally caring, supportive independent living for people 18 and up with Autism and/or Intellectual Disabilities. We are a local grassroots organization started by parents. We've blossomed into a family of programs. JCHAI Cafe serves up good times, friendship and skills for life in our dinner club, classes and weekend trips for young adults. These activities are a great way to meet others and learn new things among people with similar interests! JCHAI at Home offers various levels of community and residential supports in your family home, independent apartments, and we have a community-integrated, staffed Apartment Program in Bryn Mawr including life skills such as cooking, money management and planning a balanced, full week, travel instruction, vocational training and more! Our JCHAI Transitions Cafe serves up good times, friendship & skills for life including dinners, classes, weekend trips & summer week-long classes for young adults. Sample classes include Robotics in collaboration with Lower Merion Robotics Team & Lockhead Martin, Let's Make Soups, Salads and Sandwiches, Healthy Lifestyles class, Holiday cooking and more! Trips to sports games, festivals, concerts, museums & more). These activities are a great way to meet others and learn new things among people with similar interests! JCHAI Transitions Cafe will continue it's evening classes for people who work but adds summer week-long daytime seminars! Cooking classes cover cooking techniques & kitchen safety, nutrition information, menu planning, smart shopping, meeting with industry professionals, teamwork & organization for success! Everyone will create a binder of recipes. Healthy Lifestyles includes nutrition, exercise, self-monitoring and working with a buddy, if desired. We are happy to work with food preferences/needs! I am a pediatric nurse practitioner who provides initial psychiatric evaluations and medication management to kids age 5 years to 21 years of age. I also have a 10 year old son who is on the Autistic Spectrum. This has allowed me a special affinity for kids on the spectrum along with having relationships with various other practitioners who work with kids on the spectrum providing social skills, occupational therapy and other supports. Kesselman Clinical Associates is a group private practice that provides psychological counseling for children, adolescents, adults and families. We provide individual therapy , family therapy, group therapy and parent consultation. We see patients who are on the spectrum, those with anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, school issues, learning issues , ADHD, and various other issues. We also provide a social skills group for children in age ranging from 6-13. We also have a teen group for individuals ages 15-18 that provides a supportive atmosphere in which teens discover themselves, learn social and coping skills, and empower each other to make healthier decisions. In addition we offer an expressive arts therapy group and a back to school group to help children adjust back to the start of the school year.

Teen Group: A group where teens learn and practice social skills while processing their own social emotional experiences in their day to day lives. The focus of the group is in empowering teens to increase their social competence and confidence. This is a social skills group that helps to empower children and teach them how to increase their social skills and abilities. Specific skills focus on self-esteem building, problem solving, dealing with special issues such as bullying and teasing, and stress coping. Role playing is used in group to help children learn and practice skills. Each child receives a binder with useful materials theirs to keep. The Back to school group helps children transition back to school.

Expressive Arts Therapy Group for children 8-10 and 10-13 years old. Children will have the opportunity to use the creative arts to express their inner emotions. Children will use drawing, writing, and other forms of creativity to improve communication, increase social skills and enhance their self-esteem. Each child is given a binder of wonderful resources to Social skills group (8 week summer group) This is a social skills group that helps to empower children and teach them how to increase their social skills and abilities. Specific skills focus on self-esteem building, problem solving, dealing with special issues such as bullying and teasing, and stress coping. Each child receives a binder of therapeutic materials .

Therapeutic social skills classes for all ages, children to adults. Cooperative Lego building and our own Heroes program. Each player takes the part of a superhero with special skills and abilities. They work together as a team to defeat the NPC (bad guy) played by the therapist. It's like video games, only live! The team has to strategize, talk to each other, help each other and work together to defeat the enemy. Classes are 1 hour; reasonable rates.
