In-Sync and Social

Maria Slavin
2 Bishop Hollow Rd
Newtown Square
The occupational therapists at In-Sync and Social believe that a combined sensory and behavioral approach can help children and adults improve social skills. We use Social Thinking concepts (Michelle Garcia Winner) and related curriculums to provide a model for success. Our social skills groups focus on self-regulation, coping and curriculum instruction to teach social cognition and achieve functional outcomes. Occupational therapists possess expertise in the area of sensory processing and use sensory strategies to help regulate clients as they navigate their various environments. We achieve strong results by using sensory, cognitive-behavioral and occupation-based activities to set our clients up for social success. Children and adults without sensory issues or a behavioral health diagnosis can also benefit from our group and individual social skills therapy. In addition, we offer individual OT and educational consulting across all our locations in Newtown Square, Rosemont and West Chester, PA.

Evidence-based areas addressed in our social skills groups are: Verbal Presentation / Conversation Skills, Non-verbal Communication, Play and Work With Others, Developing and Maintaining Peer Relationships, Self-Awareness and Sensory and Emotional Regulation We offer: Sensory-Based Social Skills Groups (4-6 year olds) Lego Groups (5-7 and 8-10 year olds) Social Skills Groups (7-10 year olds) Social Skills Groups (Tweens and Teens) Social Skills Group (Adults) Individual OT and educational consulting is available for both sensory processing and/or fine motor therapy across all locations.
